Fugitive Musa Khawula faces jail time over Malema non-apology
Musa Khawula - currently on the run - is facing jail over being found guilty of contempt of court after failing to apologise to Julius Malema.
Musa Khawula has found himself in contempt of court after he scoffed at a court’s ruling to apologise to Julius Malema and his wife Mantoa Matlala over his controversial social media posts.
The notorious celebrity blogger landed in hot water after he claimed that the Economic Freedom Fighters leader and his spouse were going through a private divorce.
COURT RULES ON BLOGGER’S NON-COMPLIANCE OVER MALEMA APOLOGY
On Tuesday, 5 May, the Gauteng High Court found Musa Khawula in contempt of court after he refused to apologise to Julius Malema and his wife, Mantoa Matlala.
The controversial content creator has been sentenced to 30 days’ direct imprisonment, suspended for 30 days on condition he complies with the order.
If he fails to comply, the sentence becomes immediately enforceable.
Last month, the court found that Musa Khawula had made defamatory, untrue and unlawful accusations about the couple.
The controversial blogger was ordered to retract his tweets about the politician and his wife and refrain from tweeting further defamatory statements about the couple.

He was also ordered to publish a lengthy apology on his social media platforms.
However, Musa repeatedly tweeted that he would not apologise.

Musa Khawula’s latest brush with the law is the latest addition to his growing rap sheet.
He currently has several serious pending cases against him, including:
- Crimen Injuria at the Randurg Magistrates Court – relating to his social media posts about businessman Ze Nxumalo and his wife Tamaryn Green.
- Attempted murder, reckless driving at the Fochville Regional Court – relating to allegations of a hit-and-run case.
- Murder at the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court – Musa is accused of stabbing and killing his ex-boyfriend, Wandile Khambule, in 2022.
Where is he now?
According to IOL, a warrant of arrest has been issued for Musa Khawula after he failed to appear in court last month over the murder charge.
His bail has been forfeited to the state, and he has been declared a fugitive
