Gambia Bar Association elects new Executive Committee
The newly elected Executive Committee is as follows: President — Neneh M. C. Cham Vice President — Ayoub Johnny Njie Secretary General — Abdoulie Fatty Deputy Secretary — Gloria M. Donkor Treasurer — Nyima Samateh Social Secretary — Mama E. D. Sanyang Members without portfolio — Mansour Jobe, Khaddijatou K. Jallow and Ebrahim Sanneh The Executive Committee is the governing body of the Association, responsible for implementing its objectives, managing its affairs, and representing the Bar on all matters affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice in The Gambia. Members of the Executive serve a single term of two years. The Association congratulates the newly elected officers, and thanks the outgoing Executive for its service to the Bar. The Gambia Bar Association is the governing body of the Bar in The Gambia. Its objects include maintaining the standards, integrity, honour and independence of the Bar; defending and upholding freedom, justice and the rule of law; safeguarding the independence of the judiciary; promoting legal education; and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms.
