Africa’s immense potential in renewable energy took center stage at the Africa Forward Summit, which wrapped up today in Nairobi, Kenya.

Speaking during the summit’s opening session, AUC Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf highlighted energy as a critical enabler of development and investment in the continent. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also hailed Africa’s energy potential at the summit, which brought together leaders and senior officials from over 30 countries.
During a session focused on green industrialization and energy transition, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) emphasized Ethiopia’s contributions to clean energy on the continent.
French President Emmanuel Macron, who co-hosted the summit alongside Kenyan President William Ruto, is expected to arrive in Addis Ababa tomorrow.
