A learner’s live tribute during Jacaranda FM’s Feel Good Tour moved a listener to gift R2,000 to her siblings
Pretoria, South Africa (22 May 2026)- This one might just bring you to tears.
During Jacaranda FM’s Feel Good Tour visit to Hoërskool Pretoria-Noord, a quiet moment on stage turned into something far bigger after a learner shared a deeply personal tribute to her late mother.
The learner stepped up during a live shoutout segment and dedicated a message to her mom, who had recently passed away.
“She used to listen at Jacaranda every morning, so I want to shout out to her,” she said.
That moment immediately shifted the atmosphere, with both the audience and presenters visibly moved.
One listener, tuned in from her car, heard the shoutout and felt compelled to respond in a way that went beyond words. Speaking on air, she shared that she had also lost her mother in 2014 and understood the weight of the experience.
“I lost my mom in 2014 and obviously you live with the void forever,” she said.
Instead of only offering comfort, she decided to turn empathy into action for the family.
She initially planned to give the siblings R1,000 for a simple outing, but after learning there were four children, she increased it to R2,000 so they could all be included.
The interaction ended with hugs bringing tears. A shared moment of healing, kindness, and unexpected generosity between strangers who had never met.
