According to an NYPD spokesman, the man was shot in the abdomen and arm around 10 a.m. He was taken to a local hospital, where his condition remains unknown. Police canvassed the crime scene along 7th Avenue & Avenue D, where the shooting occurred. Shell casings were collected at the scene as responding officers from the 9th Precinct taped off the crime scene area. A local resident told reporters at the scene, “This is a popular shooting spot.” The police have no motive for the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
