Today, multi-platinum country artist and songwriter Niko Moon releases his new single “GET COUNTRY,” the latest track from his forthcoming album ROOTS, out July 17th via EMPIRE. Following the nostalgic “GEORGIA (ROOTS)” and heartfelt “RICH MAN,” “GET COUNTRY” brings the party back into focus with a full-throttle, feel-good anthem built to be one of country music’s songs of the summer!
On the new song Niko said: “It’s important to me that my songwriting is not only about mental health. Sometimes it’s good to have a song that’s just a celebration. I wanted to have a song that was a barn burner, a track that makes you put some dirt on the boots and just party.”
Written by Moon, David J, and Jake Scott (who also produced the song), “GET COUNTRY” finds Moon tapping into the rowdier side of ROOTS. The track is built for backroads, bonfires and turning the volume all the way up, leaning into his gift for pairing country storytelling with genre-blending energy to deliver what may be his boldest and most country moment yet.
While ROOTS finds Moon digging deeper than ever before into his origin story, “GET COUNTRY” proves that reflection and celebration can live side by side. The album traces Moon’s journey from his childhood in Georgia and Texas to the life he has built today in Nashville with his wife and children, while staying rooted in the optimism that has defined his career. With “GET COUNTRY,”Moon brings that spirit into sharp focus, reminding listeners that even his most personal chapter still leaves plenty of room for a good time.
Recently, Moon joined Bobby Bones to chat about the new album, what fans can expect from the new music, his work with Zac Brown Band and more. Watch the Bobby Bones interview HERE.
ROOTS serves as the follow-up to Moon’s 2025 project AMERICAN PALM, trading beachside vibes for something deeper, more grounded and more reflective. Across the album, Moon writes about growing up in Douglasville, Georgia, moving between trailers and extended-stay motels, and discovering the positive outlook that would shape his life and career. Sonically, ROOTS draws from the sounds that raised him, blending country, hip-hop, Southern soul and the uplifting energy that powered his triple-platinum breakout hit “GOOD TIME.”
“This album takes place in Georgia. We’re going from the beaches of AMERICAN PALM to the woods on ROOTS. It’s a different aesthetic, but the same mentality: Positivity is the thread that runs through all of my music,” Moon says. “On ROOTS, I intentionally wanted to be as transparent as I can be in who I am, where I’m from, and why exactly I make music. I’ve never really dug into that before and wrote about what made music so important to me.”
Previously released album tracks from ROOTS have already resonated with fans: “RICH MAN,” a smooth country-rock ballad that reflects on family, love and the real meaning of wealth, as well as “GEORGIA (ROOTS),” a love letter to his home state that interpolates the melody of Hoagy Carmichael’s “Georgia on My Mind,” made famous by Ray Charles. Together, the songs offer a window into the deeper storytelling, Southern imagery and personal perspective that define ROOTS.
