NYPD Arrests Brooklyn Man Accused Of Raping His Neighbor

Police identified the suspect as Jakhongir Sattorov, 38, of Brooklyn. He was taken into custody by officers from the 62nd Precinct and charged with rape, assault, obstruction of breathing, and criminal mischief, on Saturday. Neighbors living at the intersection of 15th Avenue and 71st Street in Bensonhurst were unaware of the alleged rape. They spoke to reporters while Jakhongir was being taken into custody. It was not immediately made known whether the victim or the alleged suspect knew each other. Authorities have not released the identity of the 59-year-old woman who was assaulted.
