The stabbing occurred near the Stephen Sondheim Theater in Midtown on West 43rd Street around 11:32 p.m. Police were seen canvassing the area and placing barrier tape around the crime scene. The victim, a 39‑year‑old man from Massachusetts, remains unidentified pending family notification. The man was discovered at the crime scene with stab wounds to his torso, face, and back. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It is unclear whether the victim knew his attackers or not. The investigation remains ongoing.
