During their investigation, deputies learned that Carribean Myers, 41, allegedly allowed her 11-year-old child, who has autism, to drive the vehicle while she was supervising and riding as a passenger. Authorities allege the child drove from the family’s residence to the gas station.
When the child attempted to stop the vehicle, deputies said the child mistakenly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to crash into the concrete traffic barrier.
