“Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kandi Burruss’ split from her estranged husband Todd Tucker is taking a sharp turn, signaling that their bombshell divorce may be messier than expected.

Tucker’s recent court response is making headlines following Burruss’ Nov. 21 divorce filing. And while he seeks to resolve tensions “in good faith,” court docs reveal there could be more twists ahead in this heated high-profile split.

The Xscape singer’s estranged husband reportedly filed his response to the divorce petition on Nov. 26, stating that their two children are currently staying with him in Georgia while she juggles “out-of-state work obligations.” Tucker reportedly voiced concerns that Burruss’ commitments “will continue to require her to be away from the children for at least the next several months,” according to court documents obtained by US Weekly.

The estranged couple have four children: two together — Ace, 9, and Blaze, 6 — plus Kandi’s daughter from a previous relationship, Riley, 23, and Todd’s daughter from a previous relationship, Kaela, 29.

The filing reportedly detailed, “in the hopefully unlikely event” that the two aren’t able to agree on a custody deal, he will push for “primary physical custody, joint legal custody and final decision-making authority.” Tucker also urged that the singer and reality star — who he described as a “loving and capable” parent — have “substantial time and meaningful access to the children.”

“[Tucker] wishes to make clear that he recognizes [Burruss] as a loving and capable parent and remains sincerely hopeful that prior and continued discussions between the parties will bring full resolution of all matters,” Tucker’s filing reportedly read. “The parties have been working cooperatively in an effort to resolve all issues, and [Tucker] remains committed to continuing those discussions in good faith.”

Back to the estranged couple’s initial union, Tucker reportedly detailed that he was pressured into signing their prenuptial agreement without legal representation ahead of their wedding. This alleged mishap is raising concerns among Tucker’s legal team.

“Despite that knowledge, [Burruss’] counsel presented the final agreement to [Tucker] for signature immediately before the wedding ceremony, without any notice to or consultation with [Tucker’s team], who had been significantly engaged in the negotiation process,” Tucker’s filing reportedly alleged. “These circumstances raise substantial questions concerning the enforceability of said document. Nevertheless, [Tucker] remains committed to working in good faith to resolve this matter amicably and privately to the extent possible.”

Tucker’s divorce counterclaim is reportedly demanding a “division of all marital assets, both real and personal, tangible and intangible, between the parties,” according to US Weekly.
