*STARZ has released the trailer for the fifth and final season of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” with a premiere date set for Friday, June 12.
The clip wastes no time raising the stakes. MeKai Curtis returns as Kanan, now fully stepping into his role as Southside’s next kingpin alongside Breeze, the Southside legend portrayed by Shameik Moore. Their alliance promises to reshape the Queens drug game – but the most jarring development has nothing to do with new alliances.
Patina Miller’s Raquel Thomas, believed by many fans to be on her way out after the Season Four finale, is very much alive. More critically, she is done protecting her son. The mother-son dynamic that defined the series has curdled into something far more dangerous – and war between the two appears unavoidable.

The key art drives that point home visually, depicting Kanan literally divided: MeKai Curtis on one side, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson – who originated the role in the flagship “Power” series – on the other. It is a striking illustration of the transformation the show has spent five seasons building toward.
Beyond the central conflict, Season Five promises fallout on multiple fronts. The Thomas family faces the potential collapse of their empire, Unique, played by Joey Bada$$, is fighting to protect his legacy, and the Mafia is quietly maneuvering in the background. The season’s expanded cast also includes London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Wendell Pierce, Tony Danza, Joe Pantoliano, and Leslie Grossman.
The conclusion of “Raising Kanan” will not mark the end of the Power universe. “Power: Origins,” a prequel series picking up directly after the events of the “Raising Kanan” finale, is already in production – ensuring Kanan Stark’s world lives on even after his story reaches its end.
New episodes of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” will roll out weekly on Fridays across the STARZ app and all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms. For those needing to catch up, Seasons One through Four are available to stream now.
