Former Anambra Governor and chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has explained the reasons behind his exit from both the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Obi made the clarification during an interview on News Central TV.
According to him, his political decisions have always been guided by principles rather than personal interests.
“Some men change parties because of their principles, some others change their principles for the sake of their party,” Obi said.
“So for me, I changed party because of my principle because I’ve been in a system where you can see that it is no longer what you believe in, what you want to practice.
“I left APGA because I was forced to leave. I left PDP because of my principles.
“You cannot say you’re going into a destination but the process of going there has compromised your principles.”
