Ye Concerts In Russia Officially Canceled

Ye just got rejected by another country, and this time it’s Russia pulling the plug on his St. Petersburg shows.

The Gazprom Arena announced it’s canceling the October 10 and 11 performances that were supposed to be sold out, with VIP tickets running up to $1,880 each.

The venue stated that no contracts had been signed for the concerts, so they’re not happening, period. A Russian politician named Novichkov said the concerts should’ve been canceled anyway, unless Ye publicly backed Russia and its military operation in Ukraine.

Ye’s been getting the cold shoulder across Europe for months now, and his European tour has been a minefield, with venues and governments shutting him down left and right.

Marseille’s June 11 show got axed with refunds issued to ticket holders. Italy canceled his July 18 performance at an arena and also offered refunds.

Poland and Switzerland both pulled their dates. The UK denied him entry, which led Wireless Festival to cancel 150,000 tickets.

But it’s not like he hasn’t performed anywhere. He successfully held shows in Istanbul, Arnhem, Tbilisi, Madrid, and the Algarve. Kazakhstan’s Almaty show also happened in August.

Looking ahead, Ye’s got New Orleans locked in for August 28 at Caesars Superdome, Chicago for September 3 and 4 at Soldier Field, and Jakarta scheduled for October 24.
