“You Will Be Arrested”: ZRP Warns Drivers Against Overloading
The Zimbabwe Republic Police, ZRP, has warned public service vehicle operators and transporters against overloading and carrying passengers, luggage and goods beyond their stipulated capacity.

In a statement, the ZRP said overloading compromises the safety of other road users and contributes to accidents. “Mapurisa Haabvumidze zvakadaro. You will be arrested,” the police warned.
Meanwhile, the ZRP has confirmed the arrest of a kombi driver, Michael Kutukwa Carrington, 27, for a string of traffic offences.
Carrington, who operates on the Harare–Mutoko route, was arrested for insecure loading, overloading, and carrying excess passengers. He also had no Certificate of Fitness for the vehicle.
Police said the driver did not have the five years’ experience required by law to operate a public service vehicle, had no defensive driving certificate, and was charged with reckless driving.
