By Breaking Belize News Staff: Guadalupe Danielo Morales, a 21-year-old baker and construction worker from Camalote Village, appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2 on Thursday, where he was arraigned on a single charge of sexual assault upon a minor. Morales, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. According to the report, the 10-year-old victim was at home in her bedroom with a mentally challenged relative after her grandmother had stepped out to visit a nearby shop. Morales, whom the victim knows as “Lupe,” allegedly entered the room, chased the relative out, and inappropriately touched the minor without her consent, causing her pain and discomfort.
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the minor visited the police station accompanied by her mother and a Social Worker to report the assault. Following the report, the Human Services Department intervened, and a social service worker interviewed the child. A subsequent medical examination was conducted, and a doctor certified that the minor was not carnally known.
Morales was detained in Roaring Creek later that same day and handed over to Hattieville Police, where he was formally charged with the offense.
With no objections from the prosecution, the sitting Senior Magistrate granted Morales bail in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount. The bail was granted under the following strict conditions: Morales is strictly prohibited from contacting the victim, her family, or any prosecution witnesses. This includes all forms of communication, such as text messages, phone calls, and social media platforms (including WhatsApp and Instagram). He must report to the Roaring Creek Police Station every Wednesday and Friday, effective Friday, May 15, 2026.
Morales successfully met bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 2, 2026.
