The room felt different the moment you walked in. There was a quiet understanding that this was more than an event. It was a gathering rooted in legacy, intention, and the power of women who have carried, built, and poured into others across generations.
Presented by K97.5FM, Her Legacy: Celebrating Mothers, Matriarchs, and Mentors: An Afternoon with Tina Knowles brought together leaders, professionals, creatives, and change makers from across the Triangle for an experience centered on connection, reflection, and purpose. From meaningful networking to thoughtfully curated vendors, every detail created space for women to not only show up, but to be seen, honored, and poured into.

At the heart of the afternoon was Tina Knowles, who took the stage in a powerful live conversation led by media legend Cathy Hughes. What followed was not just an interview, but an honest and deeply human reflection on faith, resilience, and reinvention. Tina spoke openly about her cancer diagnosis, navigating divorce after 33 years, and the emotional and spiritual journey that led her to write her new memoir, Matriarch.

The conversation moved beyond headlines and into the heart of what it means to evolve as a woman. From her upbringing in Galveston, Texas to building a successful career as a designer, Tina shared the layers of her story, including the complexities of motherhood while raising global icons Beyoncé and Solange Knowles. Her reflections highlighted the balance between nurturing others and finding your own identity over time, reminding every woman in the room that growth is not linear, and purpose does not expire.
The program also took time to honor seven extraordinary women whose impact spans civic leadership, faith, business, advocacy, and culture. These honorees represent what it truly means to lead with intention and to create pathways for others to follow. Their presence reinforced the core message of the day: legacy is not just what you leave behind, it is what you actively build and give while you are here.
As the afternoon came to a close, there was a noticeable shift in the room. Conversations felt deeper. Connections felt more intentional. Women left not only inspired, but grounded in a renewed sense of who they are and the legacy they are shaping in real time.
Her Legacy was a reminder that behind every powerful woman is a story of resilience, faith, and becoming. And more importantly, it affirmed that each woman in the room is actively writing her own.
