Translating to “little island of peace,” the project is a deeply personal tribute to her late great aunt Teresa, a Cuban émigré who was a central source of comfort throughout her childhood in Miami. Whenever CASANDRA felt overwhelmed, her aunt would gently say “tranquilita,” a quiet reminder to pause, breathe, and find calm. This project bottles that essence, an elixir CASANDRA has been carrying for years and is finally bringing to light.
ISLA TRANQUILITA thrives in duality, pairing bright, rhythmic production with deeply personal storytelling. Blending alt-pop, R&B, and electronic textures, the EP delivers immersive, cinematic songs that transport the listener to an open and enigmatic paradise. CASANDRA writes in both English and Spanish, drawing from her Cuban heritage to create a world that feels expansive, transportive, emotionally precise, and unmistakably her own.
Created during a physically and emotionally challenging period marked by ongoing health issues, the project became an unexpected source of healing. “It was sudden, I began creating from a place that felt like home, after all these years I had been building it inside of me—now it’s finally ready,” CASANDRA shares. Through her collaboration with producer Jaye Locke, she cultivated a creative environment where the music could unfold organically.
CASANDRA is a Miami-born, Los Angeles-based artist whose work serves as both mirror and sanctuary, creating an intimate space where imagination, sensuality, healing, and freedom converge. Homeschooled for much of her childhood, she developed a deep connection to her inner world early on—a foundation that continues to shape her artistry. Having released music consistently since her teenage years, CASANDRA has spent nearly a decade forging an artistic path defined by independence, emotional depth, and fearless self-expression. Her music has grown alongside her listeners, many of whom have followed her through multiple chapters of her life and artistry.
