The Ministry of Economic Transformation (MET), in collaboration with Catalyste+, is proud to announce the successful completion of a strategic mission to Belize under the Canada-CARICOM Expert Deployment Mechanism (CCEDM).

The mission, held from April 20 to April 24, 2026, was led by Natalie Morris, Regional Representative for Belize. During the week-long engagement, the CCEDM representative met with key government partners to solidify initiatives aimed at strengthening economic linkages between Canada and Belize and advancing our long-term development goals.

As the CCEDM enters its final year, the mission is focused on providing specialized technical assistance across four core pillars essential to Belize’s National Development Strategy:

  • Trade and Commerce: Enhancing the import and export of goods and the provision of professional service.
  • Entrepreneurship: Creating a robust, business-enabling environment through specialized assignments.
  • Security: Strengthening national security, food security, and border protection frameworks.
  • Cross-cutting Values: Promoting human rights and gender equality across all sectors.

Following the successful conclusion of the April mission, the Ministry and Catalyste+ are now moving forward with the implementation of the specific technical assignments identified. These efforts will ensure that the expertise provided continues to adapt to Belize’s evolving economic landscape.

The Ministry of Economic Transformation remains committed to fostering international partnerships that drive Belize’s economic development.
