By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 25 year old call centre agent was struck by a thrown bottle while waiting for a taxi in Belize City early Saturday morning.
According to the report, the woman was standing at the corner of Central American Boulevard and Freedom Street around 2:10am after leaving a nightspot in the area.
She told police she saw two women she recognised standing about two yards away on the side of the street.
One of them shouted a threat at her before throwing a green bottle, which struck her below the right knee and shattered on the ground.
Moments later the second woman threw a brown bottle, which missed.
The complainant told police she was alone at the time and feared for her life.
A statement was recorded and a medico legal form issued. She was escorted to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where her injuries are yet to be certified.
Two women are wanted in connection with the matter. Court action has been requested.
