Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took the life of a young man from Barre St Joseph on Friday night.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) said that officers from the Marigot Police Station responded to a report of a shooting in Barre St. Joseph, Castries, around 8:40 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Early investigations showed that a man was shot during the incident.
Emergency workers took the victim by ambulance to Owen King EU Hospital for treatment, but he died from his injuries despite their efforts.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Mitchel Jean from Barre St. Joseph.
The Major Crimes Unit is now leading the investigation and working to find out what happened.
