Witnesses at the scene stated that they heard several shots ring out and saw several people running for cover. No one else was reported injured. In a statement released by an NYPD spokesperson, three unidentified males were seen fleeing the scene. The 5-year-old victim was taken to Harlem Hospital and reported in stable condition. Police are still reviewing surveillance footage and searching for the three suspects who fled the scene, and ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. The investigation remains ongoing.

Three suspects involved in a broad daylight shooting that left a 5-year-old child grazed by a stray bullet remain at large, according to NYPD officials.

The shooting occurred in the Longwood section of the Bronx around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at the intersections of Aldus Street and Southern Boulevard.

Witnesses at the scene stated that they heard several shots ring out and saw several people running for cover. No one else was reported injured.

The 5-year-old victim was taken to Harlem Hospital and reported in stable condition.
