A 20-Million-Birr House from Aman Properties: Biggest Prize Ever in Ethiopia

For years, winning an award in Ethiopia usually meant a trophy, a certificate, or a modest cash

prize. Great for recognition, but rarely life-changing.

That dynamic began to shift as digital culture took over.

Organised by Qirnfud Events, the G Power TikTok Creative Award quickly became a massive

stage for young Ethiopian creators, turning short videos and digital storytelling into nationwide

fame. As the competition grew, so did the prize. Last year, the organizers raised the bar by

awarding a brand-new car to the top winner, proving just how valuable creative talent has

become.

Now, the competition is taking an even bigger leap forward.

Aman Properties has stepped in as the official sponsor of this year’s G Power TikTok Creative

Award, unveiling a grand prize worth 20 million birr: a fully-owned residential home. It is an

unprecedented step that sets a new benchmark for awards in Ethiopia.

The house is located in Bisrate Gebriel, Addis Ababa, and its value makes the prize

remarkable in its own right. For the eventual winner, it offers more than recognition on an

awards stage. It is the opportunity to own a home in one of the capital’s sought-after locations.

The sponsorship agreement between Aman Properties and Qirnfud Events was formalised at

an official signing ceremony, bringing together a real estate developer and an event dedicated

to recognising Ethiopia’s digital creators.

Aman Properties Chief Executive Officer Biniyam Wendimu said the growing influence of

social media personalities had made it increasingly important to encourage young people who

use their platforms to promote positive causes and make a constructive contribution to society.

He explained that this was a key reason behind the company’s decision to become the

principal sponsor of the award.

For Aman Properties, the choice of a house as the grand prize also reflects the value it places

on homeownership.

“A home is an asset that brings family, community and country together. By awarding a house

to a young creator, we are recognizing their achievement while investing in the next

generation,” said Aman Properties Marketing and Sales Director Zenaw Abdi.

“Alongside our real estate developments, we intend to continue supporting social initiatives

that contribute to the development of young people and our country,” he added.

Qirnfud Events Managing Director Mekdem Dereje said the organisation had carefully

reviewed Aman Properties’ track record, credibility and performance before selecting the

company as its principal partner and prize sponsor. The company’s work in construction and

real estate, he explained, helped establish the basis for the partnership and created

opportunities for future collaboration.

The announcement comes as Aman Properties continues to develop residential projects

across Addis Ababa. The company currently has four modern housing projects underway in

Kazanchis, Bisrate Gebriel and Sar Bet, and has announced plans for additional developments

in Bole, Sar Bet, Teklehaimanot, Piassa and other parts of the capital.

For the creator who ultimately wins the award, the significance of the prize will be measured

in more than its monetary value. A house in Bisrate Gebriel represents an opportunity to

establish a home and build towards a future of their own.

Through its official sponsorship of the G Power TikTok Creative Award, Aman Properties has

placed homeownership at the centre of a celebration of Ethiopian creative talent, giving one

winner the chance to take away something that lasts long after the ceremony.
