The Missouri AFL-CIO has endorsed Amendment 6, a citizen-led measure on the Nov. 3 ballot that would strengthen protections for Missouri’s initiative and referendum process.
The measure would make the process a fundamental right and require approval from at least 80% of both legislative chambers before lawmakers could send changes to voter-approved laws back to voters.
AFL-CIO President Jake Hummel said the measure would protect voters’ ability to use initiative petitions.
