A booked performance by Miami rapper Trick Daddy at Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s South Atlantic Regional Conference was shut down after the organization said he strayed from a pre-approved set list and made inappropriate comments, prompting members to walk out.
Regional Director Tiffany Moore Russell said in a statement that the sorority had met with his team “several times” to outline expectations for attire, language and specific songs. “Unfortunately, our requirements were ignored,” she wrote, adding she ended the performance due to “disrespect for our organization and for our brand.”
Trick Daddy fired back in a viral Instagram video, accusing them of lying about giving him a playlist.
“I see a post with a director of a AKA…And don’t, no disrespect to the AKAs. Some of the most highly respected, some of my most beautiful attract and, and successful women that I know are AKAs,” Trick Daddy said in an IG video response. “This is to y’all regional director who got me totally [expletive] up. Don’t lie on my [expletive] name,” Trick said. “The AKAs had their regional conference in Orlando and they booked me. I want to know when it’s time for Trick Daddy to perform at your event, what the [expletive] do you think he gonna perform?”
