Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred captured her second consecutive bronze medal at the global level on Saturday evening, placing third in the women’s 60m at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Toruń, Poland.

The Olympic 100m champion and 60m World Champion from 2024 ran 7.03 seconds at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena.

Italy’s Zaynab Dosso, the 2025 European champion, earned her first global title after taking bronze last year and silver behind Alfred in 2024. Jacious Sears of the USA, joint second-fastest all-time with Alfred, took silver in Toruń.

Running from lane 4, the 26-year-old Dosso stopped the clock in 7.00 seconds. She and Alfred are joint world leaders at 6.99 seconds. From lane 2, Sears ran 7.03, the same time as Alfred in lane 5. For the American, it was a season-best performance.

Alfred was slowest to respond to the gun in the final, at 0.171 of a second. Her former training partner, Dina Asher-Smith of the United Kingdom, left the blocks first, with a 0.153 reaction. Sears and Jonielle Smith of Jamaica recorded 0.154 reactions. Smith was fifth, and Asher-Smith was seventh in the final.
