Batenga Nakisozi: Uganda national rowing head coach attains international certification

The Uganda national rowing head coach Batenga Nakisozi has completed the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP).

Nakisozi successfully delivered her final presentation in Lausanne, Switzerland to the World Rowing and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

She presented a national talent identification framework for rowing in Uganda – a system designed to grow the sport from grassroots to elite level.

Nakisozi coached Grace Kathleen Noble at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris – France for team Uganda.

The program is supported by the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) through International Olympic Committee Olympic Solidarity, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, and the University of Delaware in the United States of America (USA).

It equips coaches to drive lasting impact of rowing sport.

This achievement for Nakisozi is a win-win situation for domestic rowing in Uganda at a time the country is strategizing for smooth operations with local, regional, continental and international competitions in the pipeline.

The Olympic Games coming up in Los Angeles city, USA due in 2028 is one of the eagerly awaited international competitions for Uganda Rowing.
