The Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour, through the Belize Labour Department, is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 2026 Labour Education Sessions held throughout the country during May 2026 under the theme:
“Right & Responsibilities of Workers & Employers”
The countrywide initiative was conducted in partnership with the Labour Advisory Board and concluded today with the final session held in Orange Walk Town.
The Labour Education Sessions were hosted in ten locations across Belize, including Independence, San Ignacio, Punta Gorda, Dangriga, Belize City, Corozal, San Pedro, Corozal Free Zone, Belmopan, and Orange Walk. The sessions brought together employers, workers, human resource personnel, union representatives, business owners, and members of the public.
The initiative formed part of the Labour Department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen labour administration, improve awareness of labour laws, and promote decent work across Belize.
The Labour Department extends sincere appreciation to all participants, partner organizations, presenters, and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the sessions. Special thanks are also extended to the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB) for their collaboration and continued support in advancing labour education and social dialogue in Belize.
The Department remains committed to continuing public education and outreach initiatives aimed at ensuring that both workers and employers are informed of their rights and obligations.
