By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures today, hotter in inland areas this afternoon, and partly cloudy skies tonight. Little or no rain is expected as warm and mostly dry weather continues.
High temperatures peak at 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 98 degrees in inland areas and 84 degrees in the hills. Temperatures tonight fall to 80 degrees along the coast, 69 degrees inland and 64 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect as temperatures inland are expected to reach or exceed 97 degrees Fahrenheit. Residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible, especially during the afternoon hours.
Winds will be southeasterly at five to 15 knots and sea state slight to light chop.
Tides will be low at 2:36 this afternoon, then high at 8:55 this evening. The sun sets at 6:17 this evening.
Friday weather continues mainly fair and warm with possible light isolated showers on Friday night.
