By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizean motorists woke up to a major fuel shakeup today after the latest price adjustment made premium gasoline cheaper than regular fuel.
The changes, which took effect at midnight, saw premium gasoline fall by eight cents per gallon while regular gasoline jumped by a massive $1.32 per gallon. Diesel dropped significantly by $1.06 and kerosene decreased by 48 cents.
Current pump prices in Belize City are now $14.53 for premium gasoline, $14.83 for regular gasoline, $14.84 for diesel and $14.03 for kerosene.
The unusual adjustment means Belizeans are now paying less for premium fuel than regular gasoline, something rarely seen at local gas stations. The dramatic increase in regular fuel prices is already drawing reactions from drivers struggling with the high cost of living.
