By Breaking Belize News Staff: A young woman identified as Brianna Myvett was killed and a man was left critically injured following a shooting in the Freetown area of Belize City on Monday night.
Preliminary information reaching Breaking Belize News indicates that Myvett and a male, identified as Alexander Carr, were shot during the incident. Myvett reportedly succumbed to her injuries, while Carr remains in critical condition.
Police were observed processing the scene late Monday night as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting got underway.
Myvett was a recent graduate of Wesley Junior College. In June, Anglican Cathedral College congratulated her on graduating from the institution, noting that she was a distinguished alumna of ACC’s Class of 2023.
Police have not yet released an official statement detailing the motive for the shooting or identifying any suspects.
