The splendid Brockwell Park Miniature Railway is back offering rides for the summer, with the organisers insisting that, “nobody is too young or to old to have a ride with us.”
The 7¼ inch gauge miniature railway offers round trips from Herne Hill Gates to the Brockwell Lido and back, with tickets priced at £1 return for all, with under two’s travelling free when accompanied by an adult.
The current park railway opened in 2003 and runs for 240 yards along a single track with loops at either end, and runs close to the alignment of the original railway which ran between 1951-1961.
They’ve told Brixton Buzz that they will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 11am till 4pm until the end of September.
In October the service will be Sundays only.
However, the railway will be closed during the festival period in the park (end of May beginning of June 2026)
