President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, has delivered an inspiring message of belief and ambition, expressing hope of seeing African nations reach the final of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Speaking to Abdoulaye Fall, Motsepe singled out Senegal national football team as one of the teams capable of making history on the global stage, while also extending his optimism to all African representatives.

“I think I’m going to see Senegal in the World Cup final in America! And maybe even two African nations in the final,” Motsepe said, highlighting his confidence in the continent’s growing competitiveness.

The CAF President noted that this message of belief has been consistently shared with all ten African nations set to participate in the tournament, urging them to dream big and aim for unprecedented success.

“Inshallah, can I see you in the final? That would make Africa proud,” he added, reinforcing a vision of unity and continental pride as Africa prepares for the global showpiece.

Motsepe’s remarks reflect a broader push within African football to elevate performance on the world stage, as teams look to break new ground and challenge traditional powerhouses.
