Capricorn Foundation empowers TVET graduates through mentorship programme

The Capricorn Foundation, in partnership with Unmatched Potential – Business Box Namibia, on Monday announced the selection of 20 vocational graduates for a three-month entrepreneurship mentorship programme.

The programme is aimed at equipping Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates with business and entrepreneurial skills.

According to a statement issued by the Capricorn Foundation, the programme received 82 applications.

Thirty applicants were shortlisted and invited to present before a panel of judges, after which 20 were selected to participate in the initiative, which commenced on 13 May 2026 in Swakopmund.

The foundation said the vocational graduate entrepreneurship programme, launched on 19 March, targets level three vocational graduates and seeks to empower young people through mentorship, practical business training and enterprise development.

Head of the Capricorn Foundation, Veripura Muukua, said the programme forms part of the foundation’s Economic Advancement pillar, which focuses on promoting sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship and youth empowerment.

“The Capricorn Foundation believes that the programme will drive an entrepreneurial culture among participants and support them in becoming successful future entrepreneurs,” Muukua said.

Founder and chief executive officer of Unmatched Potential – Business Box Namibia, Etienne Raymond, said the initiative addresses the growing need for practical entrepreneurial development among vocational graduates.

“We are excited about the talented youth of our country and look forward to helping these graduates create businesses and future employment opportunities,” Raymond said.

Participants in the programme welcomed the initiative, describing it as transformative and beneficial in helping them understand business principles and entrepreneurship.

The programme is expected to contribute to youth development and economic empowerment as Namibia continues to strengthen the role of TVET in national development.
