CAPS United bounces back to winning ways, as Dynamos maintains unbeaten run

After losing to Ngezi Platinum on Thursday last week, CAPS United this Sunday bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Manica Diamonds.

The victory was enabled by two second-half goals from Chawanagwa Kaonga and Alleny Mukombedzi.

Makepeke blew the chance of recording a halftime lead, as midfielder Kundai Benyu failed to convert a penalty in the 42nd minute; hence, he recorded CAPS United’s second spot miss in two consecutive games.

Sunday’s result saw CAPS United maintaining its top spot with 15 points, one ahead of city rivals Dynamos, who are now on 14 points after beating Simba Bhora 1-0 at Wadzanayi Stadium in Shamva.

Dembare is one of the three clubs yet to record a defeat this season, the other two being Scottland and Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Genesis Mangombe’s Dynamos has become the first team to beat Simba Bhora this season and has scored a goal in each of the six games the team has played.

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League action continues on Monday when Scottland hosts Highlanders at Rufaro, while newcomers Hardrock travel to Gibbo for a match against Triangle.

Chicken Inn will welcome FC Hunters at Barbourfields, as FC Platinum locks horns with Bulawayo Chiefs at Mandava Stadium.

Winless Agama FC plays MWOS FC at Wadzanayi, while Tel will go all the way to Nyamhunga Stadium to face ZPC Kariba.
