Hitmaker Chris Stokes is expanding his streaming empire. Stokes has officially locked in an exclusive 20-picture deal with the newly emerging streaming platform, Turnstr+, according to Variety. Leading the slate is his brand new project, Forever, This Ring, which is slated to debut on October 2, perfectly timed with the launch of the Turnstr+ platform itself.
Known for his knack for drawing in audiences with conversation-driving storylines, Stokes has tapped an all-star cast for his latest feature. Forever, This Ring will be led by Taye Diggs, acting alongside familiar faces from Stokes’ creative circle, including Loretta Devine, Marques Houston, Erica Mena, Malik Whitfield, and La’Myia Good.
Described as a “twisted psychological thriller,” the film follows Maveric Collins, a wealthy entrepreneur and longtime playboy who originally swore off marriage, that is, until he meets a woman who changes his mind completely.
However, the seemingly perfect union quickly turns sinister once Maveric discovers his new bride might not be exactly who she claims to be, leaving audiences with the chilling question of whether their love story will end quietly or turn deadly.
“I’m excited to scale up another platform,” Stokes shared regarding the new streaming deal. “I believe I have an eye for what’s new and what people love to see… the fans always show up”.
While Stokes is heavily focused on helping build the Turnstr+ Originals catalog, he also noted that he will be continuing his long-standing and highly successful partnership with Tubi.
Stokes’ production company, Footage Films, which he runs alongside CEO Marquest Houston and President Juanita Stokes, has been a driving force behind a steady stream of recent hits.
With more than 50 projects under his belt, including cult-favorites like You Got Served and popular streaming franchises like The Stepmother, Stokes shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
