Drake Goes Back To High School For OVO’s Degrassi Collection

Drake may currently be one of the biggest rap stars ever, but in his youth he was a child actor, and he’s never shied away from it.

Now he’s celebrating his Degrassi High School alumni status with a new OVO x Degrassi collection in collaboration with WildBrain.
The OVO x Degrassi Collection features the made-up school’s vibrant blue-and-yellow Panthers team colors.
Anchoring the offering is perhaps the most synonymous piece in OVO’s repertoire, the owl-clad varsity jacket in fleece for $398. On the chest are a yellow collegiate D and a blue owl on the opposite side, and corresponding patches on each arm.
Below that are the numbers 86 and 08, denoting Drake’s 1986 birthday and 2008 when the OVO brand became official. A matching royal blue crewneck is also available with a sprawling 86 and owl on the back for $178.
For preorder, there’s a heather gray split set with similar branding, with ‘Panthers’ running down the sleeve and ‘Degrassi’ on the left leg.
$88 Degrassi Panthers tees in black and grey are also listed with the OVO seal on the rear. There is also a football and basketball jersey with Drake’s character, Brooks’ last name on the back.
For accessories, there’s a canvas Degrassi tote with a tan reinforced bottom and handles, plus an adjustable hat.
Everything is 100% cotton save for the basketball jersey, and of course, it’s all made in Canada.
In August, Drake sold a 51% majority stake in his brand to Authentic Group, and the Degrassi collection might be evidence of that.
This isn’t the first time Drake has celebrated his Degrassi roots; back in 2018, he shot the video for Scorpion’s ‘I’m Upset’ there. He framed it as a reunion and brought back a bunch of his old castmates, like Cassie Steele, who played Manny Santos; Shane Kippel, who played Spinner; and Nina Dobrev, who played Mia.
