Edrine Ekau dropped 24 points as Rezlife Saints concluded the National Basketball League first round with a victory against JT Jaguars.

Rezlife Saints secured a well-deserved 63-55 victory against JT Jaguars in the NBL encounter at YMCA Court, Wandegeya on Sunday.

Ekau’s hot hand was on duty as he dropped three long efforts beyond the paint as the Rezlife Saints took a four-point (15-11) lead at the end of the opening period.

In the second quarter, the game got closer as both sides improved their defence but the Rezlife Saints took a five-point (30-25) lead going to the halftime break.

Coming from the long break, JT Jaguars imposed high court pressure, making it hard for the Saints to have a comfortable time with the ball. The Jaguars concluded the third period with a two-point (43-41) lead.

In the final quarter, Rezlife Saints found a plan to beat the high court pressure and handled the ball better. The Lubowa-based side raced to an 8-point victory.

Edrine Ekau (24 points) and Hon Kwany (10 points) were the only two players to reach double digits for the Rezlife Saints.

Ian Lubwama (16 points), Peter Sifuma (13 points) and George Odeke (11 points) scored in double digits for the JT Jaguars.
