Influencer and stylist Nicky Campbell is catching heat after referring to Dionne Warwick as the b-word expletive while critiquing her look from the Billboard Women in Music ceremony. Campbell, known for his blunt red-carpet commentary, opened his April 29 recap by questioning Warwick’s choice to wear slippers — but it was the disrespectful phrasing toward the 85-year-old icon that set fans off.
Instagram users quickly pushed back, with comments like “Not the B word when referring to an elder… not feeling that,” while TikTok users called the remark “TOO comfortable” and “Dionne Warwick slander. NEVER.”
Campbell posted a follow-up video on May 4, walking back his words. “I put my foot in my mouth,” he said, adding that Warwick is “mother” and a legend he respects.
“I wasn’t even trying to be rude,” Campbell said on Instagram. “I’m just really gay and annoying and always like, you know, ‘Hey [b-word expletive],’” he added. “Here’s what we will do. I will learn to watch my mouth, especially around icons.”
