After becoming the fastest South African to race the Isle of Man TT, AJ Venter is returning with even bigger goals for 2026.

South Africa (15 May 2026) – For nearly a decade, Allann-Jon “AJ” Venter has been taking on one of the toughest and most dangerous challenges in world motorsport, and now the South African rider is heading back to the Isle of Man TT with another major milestone in sight.

The 2026 edition of the legendary race will mark Venter’s 50th career TT race start, placing him among a very small group of riders to ever reach that number since the event first began more than a century ago.

Fresh off one of the strongest seasons of his career, Venter heads into this year’s event carrying momentum, confidence and a growing reputation on the international stage after becoming the fastest South African to ever race the Isle of Man TT.

Last year, the rider delivered a standout performance with a top-15 finish in the Superbike TT against a packed international field. He also broke through the 300km/h barrier for the first time, clocking a personal top speed of 304km/h.

Now entering his tenth straight year competing at the famous road race, Venter says the journey to this point has taken years of sacrifice, setbacks and relentless work behind the scenes.

The Isle of Man TT is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous races in motorsport, with riders navigating public roads, villages, mountain passes, and high-speed corners at breathtaking speeds.

But despite the risks, Venter continues to push forward to show what South African riders are capable of on the world stage.

Behind him is an all-South African crew that has also been making waves internationally. During last year’s Superbike TT, Venter’s team recorded the third-fastest pit stop of the race weekend, outperforming several factory-backed operations.

As anticipation builds ahead of the 2026 Isle of Man TT later this month, South African motorsport fans will have one of their own flying the flag at one of the biggest and boldest events in racing.
