Former Tanzanian Prime Minister, Judge Joseph Warioba collapses at Podium while addressing meeting
The incident briefly disrupted the national dialogue, with Tanzania Centre for Democracy (TCD) chairperson Dorothy Semu later announcing a temporary suspension of the meeting to allow participants to attend Warioba.

One of the highly discussed incidents in Tanzania at the moment is the issue of sudden collapse on stage of the former Prime Minister Joseph Sinde Warioba.
The retired Prime Minister of Tanzania Joseph Warioba and who is also a former Justice Minister and Attorney General was caught on camera in a video which later went viral of him losing balance and almost falling on the floor while addressing delegates at one of the public functions in Dar-es-salaam.
The meeting was held to discuss political issues but especially the controversial October 2025 General Elections.
Warioba was the special guest at the function, and he suddenly became weak at the podium, with his knees buckling, as he stood addressing the national conference on Tanzania’s current political situation, as well as the 2025 General Election plus what is in store for the country’s future.
During his highly anticipated address, Judge Warioba appeared to lose his balance, tried to use the table to support himself but suddenly collapsed, prompting leaders and other participants near the platform to rush to his aid.
“You cannot use guns to bring peace …!” he was saying before collapsing.
The discussion was immediately suspended as those around him assisted the former Prime Minister out of the conference hall.
The incident briefly disrupted the national dialogue, with Tanzania Centre for Democracy (TCD) chairperson Dorothy Semu later announcing a temporary suspension of the meeting to allow participants to attend Warioba.
But as he was being assisted out of the hall, Warioba had already regained his composure.
Joseph Sinde Warioba, an outspoken and fearless leader, is so far the most respected person in Tanzania who is seen as the figure that can hold together the country at the moment and in future.
The 86-year-old Warioba looked healthy as he walked into the room and later at the podium to address the people in attendance.
Discussions on social media platforms and in the streets across the country everyone seems to ask what exactly could have taken place during the meeting.
