Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised concerns over an alleged plan by some individuals to destabilise motor parks across the state.
Governor Adeleke also directed the Commissioner of Police to take immediate action to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
In a statement issued on Friday, in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said intelligence reports indicated that certain persons linked to opposition elements were planning to invade motor parks in local government areas across the state.
The governor described the alleged move as a threat to public peace and order, warning those involved to abandon what he termed a sinister agenda aimed at creating unrest.
Adeleke noted that motor parks in the state had remained peaceful since 2023 and stressed that his administration would not allow instability or conflict to return to the transport sector.
According to the statement, the governor praised the prevailing tranquillity in motor parks and reiterated his commitment to maintaining security and stability across Osun State.
He said, “Credible reports indicated some opposition elements in this untoward plan against the peace of Osun State. We already have all the details, and I warn them to drop their sinister moves.”
The governor further disclosed that he had instructed the Commissioner of Police to take proactive measures to forestall any attempt to disrupt activities at motor parks within the state.
“I have further directed the Commissioner of Police to take pre-emptive action. The current peace and stability of our dear state must be sustained at all costs,” Adeleke stated.
