The Grootfontein Municipality is mourning the death of longtime educator Magda Theron, who died on 10 May.
Theron, who was a teacher at Wilhelm Nortier Primary School, was a devoted educator who dedicated her life to shaping and guiding young minds with patience, kindness and wisdom, the municipality said on Facebook on Thursday.
The municipality described her as more than a teacher.
It says Theron was a mentor, a mother figure, and a source of inspiration to many pupils and colleagues whose lives she touched throughout her journey in education.
“Her passion for teaching, warm smile, and caring spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her,” the post reads.
The municipality noted that Theron’s dedication to children and education earned her respect and admiration within the community, adding that Nortier Primary has lost a ‘remarkable educator.
“As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well lived, a life of service, compassion, and dedication. May her beautiful memories continue to comfort her family, friends, learners, and colleagues during this difficult time.
“Rest in eternal peace, Mrs. Magda Theron. Your legacy of love and education will never be forgotten,” the post reads.
