Holness congratulates Pierre, commends Chastanet in post-election message

Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness has extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and offered gracious words to Opposition United Workers Party Leader Allen Chastanet following Saint Lucia’s December 1 general election.

In a Facebook post, Holness congratulated Prime Minister Pierre on securing another term in office, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration among Caribbean leaders. He noted that regional unity and strong democratic leadership remain essential as CARICOM nations confront shared challenges, including climate change, economic recovery and security.

In another post, Holness turned his attention to Opposition Leader Allen Chastanet, acknowledging his role in the electoral process and his ongoing contribution to the country. The Jamaican Prime Minister wrote:

“Following yesterday’s General Election in Saint Lucia, I wish to acknowledge Mr. Allen Chastanet for his commitment to the strong democratic traditions of our region and his continued service to the people of St. Lucia.
