‘Holy Babble!’ NYC Art Installation Examines Trumpism April 15–May 2
NEW YORK, NY – April 2, 2026 – HOLY BABBLE!, a new conceptual art installation by The Suited Racer, will open April 15 in New York’s Lower East Side, offering a timely examination of Trumpism as a system of belief shaped by narrative, repetition, and spectacle. On view through May 2, the installation transforms a contemporary art gallery into a fully realized chapel environment. Wooden pews, stained-glass imagery, and a central altar establish a spatial framework drawn from the architecture of worship, positioning visitors within a familiar structure historically used to transmit belief. At the center of the work is The Holy Babble!, a limited-edition 250-page belief system written in the cadence and structure of religious scripture. Organized into books of prophecy, parables, genealogies, and apocrypha, the text draws from the public language, imagery, and contradictions that have defined Trumpism in the digital age. Rather than offering direct commentary, the work reframes these materials as mythology, inviting reflection on how belief is formed, reinforced, and sustained. The New York presentation follows a sold-out debut at SCOPE Miami Beach during Art Basel 2025, where the inaugural edition of 500 copies were purchased. The Lower East Side installation marks the project’s New York debut and will introduce 1000 newly signed and numbered editions, out of the 4547 planned for release. Access to The Holy Babble! is available through a credit-card-operated vending machine, positioned at the altar, serving as the exclusive point of distribution. Each copy is priced at $45.47, a deliberate reference to Donald Trump’s position as both the 45th and 47th President of the United States embedding the project’s central thesis within the act of acquisition itself. This transactional gesture is integral to the work. By collapsing the boundary between the sacred and the commercial, THE HOLY BABBLE! positions consumption as a form of participation, underscoring the intersection of belief, identity, and consumer behavior within contemporary political culture. Additional elements throughout the installation extend this notion. A ceremonial bowl of Cheetos placed at the entrance functions as both artifact and provocation, referencing the fusion of branding, appetite, and symbolic identity that characterizes modern spectacle. “With THE HOLY BABBLE!, I wanted to build a space that reflects the moment we are in now, where we are no longer simply looking at politics, but at belief,” said The Suited Racer. “Trumpism operates with the structure normally witnessed in faith-based beliefs. At the center is a text written in biblical cadence, drawn from the public language surrounding Donald Trump, alongside a vending machine that transforms acquisition into ritual.” While rooted in the specific context of Trumpism, the installation speaks to a broader cultural condition in which narrative authority increasingly shapes public perception. In doing so, HOLY BABBLE! positions Trumpism as a defining case study in how belief operates in contemporary America. HOLY BABBLE! will be open Thursday through Monday, 12 PM to 8 PM, from April 15 through May 2. Timed entry reservations and “Sunday Services” are available. The event is free and open to the public.
