Things are heating up in the Surrey Premier County Football League, with a host of teams vying for promotion (see the table below to see just how tight it is).
On Bank Holiday Monday we went along to watch second placed Battersea Ironsides take on fifth placed Keens Park Rangers, with the hosts emerging 2-1 victors.

Above: league table as of 6th April 2026, with the chasing pack all having multiple games in hand over leaders Wimbledon Casuals.

The attendance was a modest 35, with spectators often being called upon to throw the ball back into play.

Since we’d last visited, the ground had been annexed by The Land Of Multiple Bobbles, causing the ball to fire off in all kinds of unpredictable directions.

At times it seemed like the ball was trying to escape altogether.




With dust plumes rising in the air, Battersea took the lead in the 55th minute, courtesy of a Harry Davidson strike.



Keens Park swiftly responded to draw the scores level.










Tom Blampied fired home the winner for Battersea in the 88th minute,
