K-Trap Teams Up With Oxlade on Afrobeats-Infused Single ‘Pressure’

UK rap heavyweight K-Trap has joined forces with Nigerian star Oxlade for his latest single, ‘Pressure’, bringing together South London rap and Afrobeats for a feel-good collaboration with a fresh sound.

Produced by MVLN, the track sees K-Trap step into a more melodic space, with Oxlade delivering an infectious hook that adds a new layer to the rapper’s signature style. The collaboration came together naturally, with K-Trap revealing that Oxlade was one of the first artists he thought of after completing his verse.

The pairing also marks a meeting between two artists from different musical worlds who already had an appreciation for each other’s work. K-Trap says he reached out to Oxlade after recognising that the song needed a strong hook, a move he admits the younger version of himself might not have made.

The release is accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by Daps, whose credits include work with Wizkid, Kendrick Lamar and Stormzy. Shot in Lagos, the video places K-Trap in an unfamiliar but vibrant environment as he and Oxlade enjoy the city’s energy.

From underwater sequences to scenes of beauty, romance and celebration on the beach, the visual expands the world of ‘Pressure’ beyond the traditional UK rap setting. Lagos provides a colourful backdrop for the collaboration, giving fans a different perspective on K-Trap while matching the track’s upbeat atmosphere.

‘Pressure’ arrives as K-Trap continues to build anticipation for his forthcoming album Trapo II. Scheduled for release on August 21, the project explores the contrast between the public image that helped define his early career and the person behind it.

That idea is reflected in the album’s artwork, which presents K-Trap both wearing and without the balaclava that became closely associated with his rise. The imagery represents two sides of his journey, from the mysterious figure behind the mask to the man who has continued developing as an artist.

The partnership also included a takeover of a pub and an appearance on streaming platform Off Licence Sessions, where K-Trap took over an off-licence to preview material from Trapo II.
