K.Keed & Orish Release Collaborative Album “Umgaranto II.” Three years after introducing fans to the chemistry that made uMgaranto a standout collaboration, Gugulethu artists K.Keed and Orish are back with uMgaranto II, a sequel that reflects their artistic evolution while staying rooted in the township spirit that first brought them together.

The original project earned praise for its unfiltered storytelling and memorable tracks, including “Amaxabiso,” “Ngangelizwe,” and “Goduka.” With uMgaranto II, the duo builds on that foundation, delivering a body of work that feels more polished, ambitious, and emotionally layered without losing the authenticity that defines their music.

From its cinematic production to razor-sharp lyricism, the project captures the pair at a new stage in their careers. Every song feels carefully crafted, balancing introspective moments with energetic performances that celebrate South African hip-hop through a distinctly local lens.

The album’s tracklist, featuring songs such as “Abenam,” “Icebo Elithile,” “Tuku Tuku,” “Mpahla” featuring Creed Oasis, and “Professor” featuring Barblee, explores themes of ambition, resilience, loyalty, love, and personal growth. Together, the songs paint a vivid picture of kasi life, highlighting the challenges, victories, friendships, and determination that shape the journey from the township to bigger stages.

Speaking about the project, Orish described uMgaranto II as an opportunity to step away from everyday distractions and strengthen the bond between the two artists through music. He explained that the creative process encouraged selflessness, unlearning old habits, and embracing growth, both personally and professionally.

K.Keed believes the sequel represents a significant leap forward, describing it as more cinematic, intentional, and sonically satisfying than the first instalment. That vision is evident throughout the project, which offers a cohesive listening experience while preserving the raw energy and honesty that first resonated with supporters.

The release arrives at a time when South African hip-hop continues to reach audiences far beyond the country’s borders. With their authentic storytelling, local identity, and evolving sound, K.Keed and Orish continue to contribute to the genre’s growing global presence.

More than just a sequel, uMgaranto II stands as a celebration of friendship, artistic maturity, and the power of staying connected to one’s roots. Whether listeners are hearing it in the streets of Gugulethu or on playlists around the world, the message remains clear: genuine relationships continue to produce meaningful music.

uMgaranto II is now available on all major streaming platforms. Fans in Cape Town can also look forward to upcoming listening sessions and live performances as the duo brings the project to audiences in person.
