The long-running era of VH1 reality dominance is coming to a close. Paramount announced that “Love & Hip Hop,” the franchise that helped define modern reality TV since its 2011 New York debut, is officially shutting down. To mark the end of its 15-year run, the network will air a six-part retrospective, “Love & Hip Hop: The Final Chapter,” later this fall.

According to the network, the special will revisit the franchise’s breakout stars, headline-making moments and cultural impact, with new interviews from cast members across all four cities — New York, Atlanta, Hollywood and Miami — along with producers, executives, journalists and cultural critics.

Executive producer Lashan Browning called the farewell a tribute to the talent, crews and fans who fueled the show’s rise.

While the main franchise wraps, spin-offs “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” and “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” will continue their current seasons on MTV and BET.
