Man slaughtered in cold blood at a residential apartment in Arusha
Arusha city continues to be plunged in a series of unexplained killings, with the latest incident involving the owner of Reboot Lounge who was killed in Mianzini

A man who is said to have been a businessperson of Arusha who operated a night pub, was found slaughtered inside his upper-floor apartment within a rental flat located in the Mianzini section of Arusha City.
Identified as Augustino Mweta, popularly known as ‘Teacher,’ as reports have it, was living alone in his house until that fateful weekend when he allegedly invited another young man to spend the night with him.
The sister to the late Mweta, said her brother who ran a business, the Reboot Lounge, in Sinoni area, had just retired home that day only to be met with cruel death at the hands of a stranger.
Pearsis Mweta who used to work with her brother in Sinoni said the late Augustino had just employed an unknown young man previously.
He later ordered that a homeless young man who was hired at their place of business and no place to live, should be taken to his home at the Mita 200 section of the upper Kaloleni area, along Ilboru road.
The man was taken to Augustino’s house and that was the last time for him to be seen. The police are still looking for him.
Meanwhile his benefactor was discovered butchered inside his flat the following day.
The guard who watches over the flat, said he previously saw a man leaving the flat with bags that afternoon but did not suspect him.
In the evening the guard started smelling something strange because all other apartments in the flat were lit, except one in the upper floor where the late Augustino used to live.
Normally Augustino would leave the house in the afternoon to go and attend his business, but on that day, he hardly left and when dusk settled in, his flat was still dark and from afar the door seemed partly open.
The guard then climbed the stairs to investigate the flat.
When he reached the apartment, he tried to call Augustino, but there was no response.
The guard peeped through the partially open door and was shocked to see a pool of blood.
The watchman then summoned help from local authorities who also called the police to the scene.
The body of a man who was later identified to be the late Mweta was found inside the house, covered in bedsheets. It seems he was killed by a person who first stabbed his belly then proceeded to slash the neck.
