MANICA Diamonds coach Tafaadzwa Mashiri says many factors are contributing to the club’s poor start in the ongoing 2026 league campaign.
Mashiri was speaking after his club’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium in Harare Sunday.
Manica Diamonds is currently at the bottom of the log standings with one point and is among the three clubs yet to win a match this season, the other two being Agama FC and FC Hunters.
“Yeah, it’s a poor start, and I admit that, but we attribute it to many factors.
“If you check the first three games, the state of the pitch was not favouring anyone, and it was very difficult to play under those conditions.
“Also, we are travelling to Triangle for our home games as well, so a lot was against us,” said Mashiri.
Other than the issues mentioned above by the coach, New Zimbabwe.com understands that the club is struggling financially.
Currently, the outfit owes players’ salaries that date back to November of last year, and the majority of new players are yet to receive their sign-on fees.
Meanwhile, sources close to the club have revealed that plans to hire a new coach are in motion, and Saul Chaminuka is likely going to be appointed to take over.
